Recognizing Philanthropy
Charitable activities are a must and provide an essential service in tackling social problems and the upliftment of millions of people’s lives. The Bharat Ratna Samoan is the service provider organization initiated with the vision to honour and acknowledges the extra-ordinary philanthropists who have contributed immensely and committed their resources and energies for the needy through charitable organisations. He said his awards celebrate philanthropists who have made great sacrifices in contributing to the welfare of society as beneficiaries, providing funds, volunteer services, or championing events for noble causes.
The idea upheld by BHARAT RATNA SAMMAAN is philanthropy is not charity in general; it is using the opportunity to change someone’s life for the better. The people we celebrate are normally not confined to simple philanthropy but engage their capital, connections and talents to target the core of problems that affect society. Their work in education, health care, reduced poverty levels and conserving the environment makes it evident that RAs are willing to work for the general welfare.
BHARAT RATNA SAMMAAN seeks to promote philanthropy by identifying competent philanthropic leadership to encourage more people to play an active part in society. In this framework, we assumed that everyone can contribute, in-kind, manpower or money; and that everyone could bring about a positive social change if people come together to do so. Our awards act as a commemoration of the difference that philanthropy can make and as encouragement for others to pursue charitable endeavours. By this recognition, BHARAT RATNA SAMMAAN aims to cultivate culture of giving, kindness, and intent to improve the society with philanthropy being cherished and welcomed as a powerful actor.
